Kulvir Singh Gill is a gifted strategist and facilitator with over twenty years of experience in helping organizations build their growth strategies, develop their next generation of innovative leaders and drive performance. Kulvir has designed and delivered dozens of corporate strategy retreats, multi-stakeholder working sessions, and leadership programs for high-potential talent around the world. Over his career, he has worked directly with Fortune 500 clients across multiple industries, including mining, oil and gas, heavy industrial, financial services, and retail.
In an advisory role, Kulvir currently serves on the board of directors for Canada Nickel Company and the advisory board of Celerity Craft. He has also been on the advisory boards of Summit Nanotech and Zerv. He is also a mentor for the Minerals stream of the Creative Destruction Lab.
Kulvir has also played a major role in driving several multi-stakeholder industry coalitions. He was the Founding Executive Director of the Development Partner Institute (DPI) to advance sustainability in the mining industry. In that role, he has convened global working groups, spoken at major mining conferences and led regional catalyst programs in South Africa, Brazil, Ecuador and Peru. He has also served as the Innovation Ecosystem Manager for the Canadian Mining Innovation Council (CMIC). He currently serves as a co-lead for The Nourish Movement which brings global leaders to empower human health through food, sustainably.
Kulvir began his career as a management consultant with Oliver Wyman before holding several positions with Barrick Gold involving supply chain management, post-merger integrations, strategic planning, and innovation.
Kulvir is also passionate about community service. He is a co-founder and board chair of the Seva Food Bank in Mississauga. He also serves on the boards of the Empire Club of Canada and the Sikh Research Institute and was previously on the board of the William Osler Health System. Kulvir is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and a 2010 Action Canada Fellow. He holds a B.Sc. and a B. Comm. from the University of Calgary and the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors. He lives with his family in Brampton, Ontario.
